Announcing Uniques!

I have a confession to make, I am a shop-a-holic.  Not only for myself, but for my business.  I am always out sourcing new materials and really funky beads to work with and I can’t not buy something when it screams to be worked with.  The issue at hand is how do you know what I have without me posting thousands of pictures of beads, which for me would be thrilling, but lets face it, I don’t think YOU would really want to look through everything.  After all, how many versions of an 8mm black round bead can one person have (17 if you really want to know).

So without further ado Little Whimsy is thrilled to announce Uniques.  A line of one of a kind pieces made as the mood strikes from my many beads on hand.  Each piece is crafted with the same love and care, selecting each bead one by one for it’s beauty and flow in the final piece.  Uniques can be resized free of charge, plus or minus one inch.

Here are just a few that we’re launching with:

Onyx Crush Bracelet – Stunning black onyx surrounded by Bali sterling accents, a match made in heaven.

Copper Dream Bracelet – Gorgeous antiqued Bali inspired copper paired with rich black onyx.  A stunning combination!

Pretty In Pink Bracelet – Fresh and bright, perfect for Spring!  Frosted pink glass nuggets are brought to life by bright AB fire polished crystals and high polish sterling silver accents.

Chocolate Turquoise Bracelet – What could be more delightful than a blend of creamy chocolate and vibrant turquoise?  Our chocolate turquoise bracelet shows off the beauty of these amazing beads and is chock full of sterling silver accents.

Uniques are ready for immediate shipping as is, or add a photo charm for your own personal twist (additional production time required if adding a photo tile).  Since each piece is a one of a kind creation, pieces are limited to the quantities on hand.

Check our selection of Uniques often to see what’s new!

A few recent gems

I haven’t updated in a while, it’s been pretty crazy here.  We’ve had end of the year activities for school (only 68 more days till the kids go back – but who’s counting 🙂 ) and no late Spring lull like I was expecting.  I’m not complaining, I LOVE my clients and business, but thought I may have a few weeks of down time before we all kick into holiday planning and no such luck this year.  Woot!

Anyhow I wanted to take a moment and post a few of my beauties from the past few weeks.  I’m gonna skip all of the same old same old and just show off four pieces that I really really loved.

This one here is Fiesta (ya’ll know how much I love that piece, right?) but kicked up a bit with some added blues to make the (amazing!) image pop.

Then I had one of my regulars request a custom piece that I have pondered for a while.  She requested a choker with the photo tile on the strand vs. dangling down.  The challenge, we wanted to do some red, white, and lots of blue, wonderful colors but a challenge to not look too “patriotic”.  I focused a bit more on the deeper blues to really pop the denim in the image and then used rich garnet to highlight the red in the brick wall.  I think it came out stunning!

And what’s really cool is the reverse of her image is B&W so I even added a hint of black to it so when she wears her choker reversed it looks like a completely different piece.

And here’s one that I made for me.  Well maybe not for ME but for my son’s kindergarten teacher as an end of year gift.  I had him draw a picture of how he sees her and I then took a picture of it and we made a card and key ring out of it.  We also did this for my middle guys preschool teacher.  I think they came out ADORABLE and what a great way to capture a moment in time when a photograph might not be available.

And the last piece for today is this stunning Double Swarovski Y.  Can you say purty?

Crazy week & a few sneak peeks

With the impending Mother’s Day ship deadline looming, I haven’t had much time to post this past week.   I’ve been focusing on packing up orders to get them out the door but I did take a moment and snap a few pictures so I wanted to share them with you.

This one was fun with some great colors for Spring. The pink necklace was a perfect compliment to finish off the piece.

And here’s a peek at a 16mm pendant complimented by Royale jewelling. This image made me smile when I first opened it because my dd has this same hat!

Here’s another 16mm with Royale jewelling, complimented by a sterling necklace. There’s just something about this one that I just love!

I also got swamped with a bunch of triple pendants. There was a period of a few hours a week or so ago where several poured in, here’s a peek at one of them.

Something to keep in mind… when you order funky jewelling think about requesting a custom color. Typically I will just do black, or ask if I think something may look a little better, so I wanted a share this example of an earthy option complete with brown necklace. Aren’t the earthy tones beautiful?

Here’ the last one for now. I seem to get a lot of questions about how the Mother of Pearl Drop bracelet would look with multiple images. This item looks just as fabulous with one tile as it does with seven. Here’s an example of the bracelet with five.

Ok break time is over and it’s time to get back to work to beat that Thursday deadline!

Simply delicious!

Here’s another custom from one of my regular clients (see the princess post). This one we made special, a bit longer than normal as a solid loop so it can go right over her clients head. The colors are to die for! Someone I couldn’t help showing it off to said it reminded her of minestrone soup. Simply delicious!

Sneak Peek for L

Just another sneak peek before I pack this beauty up. This one is a couture pendant on a simple rubber cord. I love the brown tones!

Sneak Peek for D, O & J

Well this weekend was quite the busy one around here. My dh is away this week so somehow that means I get a little bit more accomplished, even with the kids still home! Here are 3 that I just packed up, and the first of the Mother’s Day promo items to ship. Look for lots more to go out over the next few days.

D, this one is for you (16mm w/ feminine jeweling)

O, here’s yours (20mm w/ feminine jeweling)

And for J our classic key ring

Look for more sneak peeks tomorrow!

Sneak Peek for A

Ask anyone who orders a custom piece if I tell them how much I love custom work. It allows me to give a client exactly what they want, with colors they love, which means they can and will wear their jewelry every day. Recently A asked me to take a little bit of red, pink, pale and dark blue, moss green, violet, and dark purple to make her a “necklace of many colors”. Check out this beautiful piece!

Can I say it again? I love custom work!!
